Construction & Renovation Debris
Removal, Point Breeze

A gut reno on a 19146 rowhouse throws off a mountain of demo — torn-out plaster and drywall, framing scrap, old cabinets, ripped flooring, a whole kitchen and bath on the floor. It can't go to the free city centers; C&D has to go to a licensed transfer station. We haul it there and price it honestly at $162 a cubic yard, or by the truckload for a full gut, flat from a photo — built for flip and contractor deadlines. No PA sales tax on the service.

How a Point Breeze debris haul works

1 · Photograph the pile

Send a couple of shots of the demo — the drywall stack, the ripped-out kitchen, the whole floor of debris. No need to bag or sort anything first.

2 · Get a flat price

We scope it by the cubic yard or the truckload — the transfer-station gate fee already inside it — and send one flat number back, plus the soonest window that fits your schedule.

3 · We load & haul

A vetted, insured crew loads the debris, salvages what a ReStore can reuse, and hauls the rest to a licensed C&D transfer station. The site's clear for the next trade or the listing photos.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Point Breeze?

Construction and demolition debris prices differently from household junk because it disposes differently. There's no free city option for it, so it's quoted flat from your photos at $120 per cubic yard — the licensed private transfer-station gate fee is already baked in — or by the truckload for a full gut. For a benchmark, Homeyou pegs the average Philadelphia junk-removal job around $231–$242, and small C&D loads carry roughly a $100 minimum at the private stations before a hauler even factors labor; our flat number covers the gate fee, the loading and the drive.

JobFlat price
Construction debris$120 / cubic yard
Quarter truck — a small demo pile$241
Half truck — a gutted kitchen or bath$431
Three-quarter truck — a floor of the house$587
Full truck — a whole-house gut$732

$75 minimum. Loading, the transfer-station gate fee and the drive are all included. No driveway needed — the truck stages on the street and we carry it out the front. Clean fill (concrete, brick, dirt) is heavier and priced separately from a photo. No PA sales tax on the service.

Why construction debris can't go to the city centers

This is the detail that catches out-of-town investors and first-time flippers every time. Philadelphia runs six sanitation convenience centers where residents can drop off bulk trash, yard waste and recycling for free — but they explicitly do not accept construction or demolition debris. Drywall, plaster, wood, tile, roofing and torn-out fixtures aren't allowed. And the city's two-item curbside bulk limit and its 311 appliance appointment program are for household items, not a gut reno's worth of rubble. So the only legitimate route for C&D is a licensed private transfer station — Geppert Recycling, Liberty and the region's other C&D facilities — which charge by the yard or the ton, with roughly a $100 minimum on even a small load. When we quote $162 a cubic yard, that real gate fee is inside the number. It's why "just take it to the dump" doesn't work for a renovation, and why hiring a hauler who's already permitted for those stations is the clean, on-the-books way to do it.

What we haul from a gut reno

  • Drywall & plaster — torn-out sheets, lath, and old horsehair plaster off the brick.
  • Wood & framing scrap — cut-offs, old joists, subfloor, and demo lumber.
  • Ripped-out kitchens & baths — cabinets, countertops, vanities, tubs, toilets and tile.
  • Doors, trim & fixtures — old windows, doors, casing, and light and plumbing fixtures.
  • Flooring & roofing tear-off — pulled-up hardwood, carpet, laminate and shingle debris.
  • Mixed demo debris — the general rubble a full gut leaves on every floor.

We can't take hazardous material — asbestos, wet paint, solvents or contaminated soil. If you're unsure, send a photo and we'll tell you straight.

Where the debris goes

Solid, reusable pieces — sound cabinets, doors, mantels, fixtures and salvageable lumber — can be routed to Habitat for Humanity ReStore for resale rather than the landfill, which is a genuine win in a neighborhood where a lot of the old rowhouse material is worth saving. Metal is recycled. The remaining mixed C&D goes to a licensed private transfer station where allowable material is sorted and recycled and only the true remainder is landfilled. The gate fee for all of it is already inside your flat price, with no separate dump charge and no PA sales tax on top.

Built for the flip and the deadline

Point Breeze is one of the city's fastest-changing grids, and a lot of our debris work here is on somebody's clock: an investor with a settlement date, a contractor who needs the demo cleared before the next trade shows up, a homeowner finishing a rehab before the listing photos. We price flat from a photo so there's no estimate visit eating a day, come same-day when a slot's open, and can clear debris between trades so the electrician or the drywall crew isn't working around a pile. When the job's a flip, the last haul-out gets the house looking clean and finished for the showing. Fast, on-the-books, and priced up front is the point.

A rowhouse block, worked with care

Point Breeze is a neighborhood in visible transition — historic rowhomes with longtime owners sitting block by block next to gut-renovations and new-construction infill. We work these tight, often permit-parked streets the way you'd want on your own block: the truck stages out front (no driveway or alley needed), the load-out is quick and swept up, and we keep dust and mess off the neighbors. A reno is disruptive enough; the debris haul shouldn't add to it.

What Point Breeze customers say

★★★★★

"Gutted a rowhouse on Wharton and had a full floor of drywall and old cabinets to move before the framers came back. They quoted it from photos by the yard, hauled it to a transfer station, and had the site clear the next morning. On-the-books and on time."

— Chris D., investor, Point Breeze
★★★★★

"Flip with a hard settlement date. They cleared the demo debris between trades and did a final haul before the showing so the house looked finished. Flat price, no surprise dump fees, no sales tax. My go-to hauler now."

— Renee A., 19146
★★★★★

"Redid our kitchen and had no idea the city won't take construction debris. These guys did — loaded the old cabinets and tile, salvaged the solid stuff to ReStore, and hauled the rest. Careful on a narrow block. Wish I'd called them first."

— Marcus H., Point Breeze

Point Breeze construction debris questions, answered

How much does construction debris removal cost?

$120 per cubic yard, quoted flat from photos with the transfer-station gate fee inside it; full gut jobs price by the truckload (quarter $241, half $431, three-quarter $587, full $732). $75 minimum, disposal included, no PA sales tax.

Why is it priced differently from regular junk?

The free city convenience centers don't accept C&D, so drywall, wood and tile must go to a licensed private transfer station that charges by the yard or ton — and that real gate fee is what the rate covers.

Can you hit a flip or contractor deadline?

Yes — same-day when a slot's open, clearing between trades and doing the final haul before a showing or settlement.

What can't you take?

Hazardous material — asbestos, wet paint, solvents, contaminated soil. Clean fill (concrete, brick, dirt) is priced separately from a photo.

No driveway on the block — a problem?

No. The truck stages on the street and we carry the debris out the front, fast, on the tight rowhouse blocks.
