Pennsport & Whitman
Deep South Philly, down around Two Street — compact brick rows with stoops and porches, Mummers clubs, and families who've held the block for generations. When the basement, the garage, or the clubhouse fills up, we truck-fill it out the front for one honest flat price. No driveway needed, no stairs surcharge, no PA sales tax on the service.
Truck-fills for the Two Street rows
Pennsport and Whitman are as deep-South-Philly as it gets — compact brick rowhomes with front stoops and porches, tight one-way streets, and the string-band clubhouses along Two Street that make this the beating heart of the Mummers. It's a working-class Irish and Italian corner where families stay put, which means the stuff piles up where it always does: down the basement stairs and out in the garage or the yard shed. The old bedroom set, a dead washer, the porch furniture that gave out, boxes and bins and a decade of "we might need that" — that's the Pennsport truck-fill, and it's our bread and butter out here.
We keep it simple and priced straight up. You send photos, we send back one flat number that already includes the labor, the truck, the drive, and the dump fees, and that's what you pay — nothing tacked on when the crew arrives. A corner of the cellar or a full basement-and-garage clear before a sale, the crew does the carrying up the tight stairs and out the front to the truck. Good furniture gets donated, appliances and metal get recycled, and you get the space back the same day.
What we haul out of Pennsport
- Basement truck-fills — the packed cellar under the row: furniture, appliances, tools, boxes, and bins, up and gone.
- Garage & shed cleanouts — the end-of-row garages and backyard sheds, cleared to the bare floor.
- Mummers-clubhouse clear-outs — costumes, props, old bar gear, and stored furniture out of the Two Street clubs, scheduled around your calendar.
- Whole-home clear-outs — before a sale or after a passing, top to bottom in one truck-fill visit.
- Single heavy pieces — a sleeper sofa, a fridge, a washer/dryer, or a piano brought up from below grade.

Bulk trash vs. paid pickup in Philly → — when the city's free program works and when a flat-price haul is the smarter call.
Why not just use city bulk trash?
For one or two things at the curb, go ahead — the city's two-item bulk limit covers a couch or a chair on your trash day, and appliances get a separate 311 appointment (homes of six units or fewer, up to four items, scheduled days out). But a full basement, a stuffed garage, or a clubhouse back room is a different animal. You'd be dragging every piece up your own stairs, splitting it over weeks of trash days, and living with a pile on a one-way block where there's barely room to park. And a clubhouse is a group space, not a household — the residential program isn't built for it.
We do the part the city leaves on you: the lifting, the loading, and all of it in one trip. Same-day, inside the house or the club, as many items as it takes — no two-a-week rationing, no rented truck, no sidewalk pile in front of the neighbors. One flat price, one afternoon.
Pennsport access, handled
- Narrow cellar stairs — steep, tight-turn basement steps; we bring the crew and the technique to get big pieces up whole.
- No driveway, one-way streets — everything comes out the front to a curbside truck; we stage on the tight blocks and keep the carry short.
- Clubhouse scheduling — we work the Two Street clear-outs around rehearsals, events, and the parade calendar.
- Donation + recycling routing — Goodwill, Habitat ReStore, and St. Vincent de Paul for the good pieces; metal, appliances, and e-waste recycled.
When Pennsport calls us
Most calls are the basement that's finally getting cleared, or the family emptying a rowhome before it sells. But it's also the string band making room in the clubhouse, the landlord turning over a rental, the renovation that needs the cellar bare before work starts, and the garage that's swallowed everything but the car. One set of photos, one flat number, and we carry it up and out — no drama, no tax, no surprises.
What Pennsport customers say
"Cleared the basement off Moyamensing after twenty-five years — old furniture, a busted washer, boxes everywhere. Carried it all up the tight stairs and out to the truck on a one-way block. Fair flat price, no tax tacked on."
"We needed the club's back room emptied before the season — costumes, props, old bar stuff, years of it. They worked around our schedule and hauled the whole thing in one visit. Good crew, honest number."
"Emptied my mom's rowhome in Whitman before we sold it — basement and the little garage, one day. Respectful, quick, and they donated what still had life in it. Priced right off photos."
