Port Richmond
The tidy brick rows and twins between Aramingo Avenue and the Delaware — Polish-heritage blocks where working families keep a clean house and a full basement. When the cellar or the garage finally has to give, we carry it out the front for one honest flat price you approve from a photo. No driveway needed, no stairs surcharge, no PA sales tax on the service.
Value cleanouts for the riverfront rows
Port Richmond wears its history plainly — a working-class Polish neighborhood of narrow brick rowhomes and twins running down toward the old industrial riverfront, where the parishes, the corner taprooms, and the family kitchens have anchored the same blocks for generations. The homes are well-kept and lived-in, which means the clutter doesn't sit in the living room; it goes down the cellar stairs or out to the garage, and it stays there. The dead chest freezer, the couch the last kid took to college and left, the workbench nobody uses, a wall of boxes and paint cans — that's the Port Richmond job, and it's the one we do most out here.
We price it the way people around here expect to be dealt with: straight, flat, and fair. You send photos, we send back one number that already covers the labor, the truck, the drive, and the dump fees, and that's the price — nothing added when the crew shows up. Whether it's a quarter-truck corner of the basement or a whole cellar and garage cleared before a sale, the crew does the carrying up the tight stairs and out the front to the truck. Good furniture gets donated, metal and appliances get recycled, and you get your space back the same afternoon.
What we haul out of Port Richmond
- Basement cleanouts — the packed cellar under the row: old furniture, appliances, tools, and years of boxes, carried up and gone.
- Garage cleanouts — the twins and end-of-row homes with a garage or a yard shed; we clear it down to the bare floor.
- Whole-home clear-outs — before a sale or after a passing, top to bottom in one scheduled visit, priced as a truck-fill.
- Single heavy pieces — a sleeper sofa, a fridge or chest freezer, a washer/dryer, or a piano that has to come up from below grade.
- Appliances — fridges, freezers, and washers with freon recovered and documented; e-waste diverted, not landfilled.

Doesn't the city take bulk trash?
It does, a little — and for a couch on the curb that can be enough. The city lets you set out a two-item bulk limit on your regular trash day, and big appliances need a separate 311 appointment (homes of six units or fewer, up to four items, scheduled days out). But a full cellar or a stuffed garage is not two items, and it isn't a curb job — you'd be hauling every piece up your own stairs, splitting it across weeks of trash days, and living with a pile on the sidewalk in between. The city's convenience centers help even less: they're drop-off only, you haul it yourself, and they won't touch construction or demo debris.
What we do is the part the city program leaves to you: the carrying, the loading, and all of it in one trip. Same-day, inside the house, as many items as it takes — no rationing two things a week, no rented truck, no sidewalk pile drawing looks from the neighbors. One flat price, one afternoon, done.
Port Richmond access, handled
- Narrow cellar stairs — steep, tight-turn Philly basement steps; we bring the crew and the technique to get big pieces up whole.
- No driveway, front-door-only — everything comes out to a curbside truck, exactly the way these rows are built.
- Tight, parked-up streets — we stage the truck and keep the carry short; parking is our headache, not yours.
- Donation + recycling routing — Goodwill, Habitat ReStore, and St. Vincent de Paul for the usable pieces; metal, appliances, and e-waste recycled.
When Port Richmond calls us
Most calls are the cellar that's been "on the list" for years — a homeowner who finally wants the basement back, or a family clearing a parent's rowhome before it goes up for sale. But it's also the landlord turning over a rental between tenants, the renovation that needs the basement empty before the plumber can start, the garage that's swallowed the car, and the estate that has to be handled with care after a passing in a house held for decades. One set of photos, one flat number, and we carry it up and out.
What Port Richmond customers say
"Twenty-some years in the cellar off Allegheny — a broken freezer, my dad's old workbench, boxes to the ceiling. They carried every bit up those steep stairs and out the front. Fair flat price, no games, no tax added on."
"Cleared my mom's rowhome near the church before we listed it — basement and the little garage, one visit. They were respectful about it and donated what they could. Priced it right from photos."
"Just needed an old fridge and a sleeper sofa gone from the basement between tenants. Flat quote off a picture, came next day, up the narrow stairs and out. Easy."
